I Did A Thing I Did A Thing I Did A Thing I Did A Thing I Did A Thing!
Ever since publishing Oblivion Reimagined, Book 2 of my Allies and Aliens series — my sci-fi space opera saga of intergalactic rebellion, star-crossed lovers, and battles between human resilience and cosmic forces (ahem) — I have been itching to get back and finish it.
Today, I am happy to report:
"I'm coming to get you, Rain!"
I started re-reading Countdown to Oblivion last night. My current plan is to read a chapter a night — of Book 1 and then Book 2 — and then get back on that Rain and Ang horse!
If you're thinking:
"Hey Shaka, but didn't you write those books? Shouldn't they be fresh in your head? After all, they are your characters. It is your story. Why'd you ever stop writing it, anyway?"
Then I'd have to say:
"Well gee, Marvin," (because your name is Marvin now) "I can't account for memory! Especially my own!"
Of course I remember the major plot points and some minor subtleties. But I’ve been working in other universes since then, so I have to sort of kickstart that part of my brain — the one that’s fighting an intergalactic battle of good vs. evil / Aura vs. Volcrex.
But which is the good and which is the evil? Ah, there's the rub.
Is it? Is that the rub?
Not entirely. But it’s a start.
And so, this happened..
I put a self-imposed deadline on myself yesterday. More on that in a bit. Because up first—
I’ve been sitting on the cover of The Aura Obligation for a couple years now, but here she is in all her glory:
That’s like a movie poster right there! I’d nearly forgotten I had that! So cool! Oh man, I gotta write this book!
Should you care to score yourself a sweet, sweet preorder of the final chapter in the Allies and Aliens saga (He called it a saga!), feel free to click the glory poster (created with love and badassery and understanding by May Dawney Designs) and be delivered — dumped — to an Amazon preorder page.
The pub date is currently set for April 10, 2026. So it’s not like this is happening any time soon. But that gives me a year to crack on it, Marvin! So let’s get to the crack-a-lackin! I'd love to publish long before then. But time will literally tell. Won't it?
Tick. Tock. Tick.
The Final Countdown Begins!
I’ll keep infrequent, random updates here on my bloggy as the year progresses. You know, for culpability and posterity and all that jazz.
Did I mention the first two books in this series are in Kindle Unlimited? Go to, fair reader! Forthwith and godspeed!
Fiction is stranger than truth,
Shaka
